British Literature
Today in British literature a new rule was instituted regarding our journals. Normally sister Holly would write a question on the board, and we would have to work with that and come up with a half of a page worth of writing to answer the question. This was hard enough for most of us because usually the question could be fully answered in a two sentence format. Now sister Holly is requiring us to answer the same type of questions in a two paragraph format which is 10 sentences long. I feel that she either needs to come up with new questions or make it the way that it used to be because now it is just too difficult. For those of you that are in the British literature class, do u think that she has made this too difficult?

we have to write a page every day unless we read our book or something........ it stinks........
ReplyDeleteI agree and disagree with you Justin. I agree because now in World Literature, sister Holly is making us write two paragraphs for our journals. Normally, I would write a few paragraphs anyway but I hate that its now a requirement. On the other hand I disagree with you because this 10 sentence answer is only required to challenge you
ReplyDeleteOh, I write four sentences each. I don't write five. And this is how I write it to make it longer. It works.
ReplyDeleteAs a teacher and college student, I know what I need to do to get my students ready to go to college. I have required my eighth graders to write a whole page since the beginning of the year and my seventh graders must write half a page. If you were my students you would be writing a page and a half to two pages. With that said, be thankful you have Sis Holly and not me :). That is all.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you, I always wrote the bare minimum in the first quarter, and it was a bit of a shock to me that she upped the ante. But to be fair, her questions have been a great deal more open-ended and parted. I just think of it as writing two journal entries per day, which seems much less difficult to me. thats just my five cents worth.
ReplyDeleteBefore the rule was initiated I would write about half a page or roughly 10 sentences. The new requirement is 10 sentences through 2 paragraphs. I have simply made my one longer paragraph into 2 5 sentence paragraphs.
